Bike Night!

Every Monday night I battle my way through the quirky Queens traffic to the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. My destination is a local pub where motorcycle enthusiast gather to watch the weekend motorcycle races. These gatherings are commonly referred to as bike nights to the motorcycling community. They're usually sponsored by a moto club or some moto related establishment. In this case the bar owner runs a local custom moto shop and races as well. It's become somewhat of a ritual for me over the last 5 years since I starting the sport and I enjoy it immensely. You'll even find me there in the off-season, when racing is suspended, just to commiserate and enjoy the company of my fellow moto enthusiasts. During the height of the season, summer months, you'll find a large gaggle of motorcycles lined up in front of the pub and a packed house of riders.
This monday kicks off the start of the race season with the SBK races in Philip Island, Australia. The races traditionally take place on a Sunday with practice and qualifying races held Friday and Saturday. The video I posted is from last year's Australian race. The exciting last lap battle for 3rd place podium. Psyching myself up for the evenings festivities.
